SOUL TO SOLE was inspired by a well-worn pair of flip-flops that became an unexpected symbol of resilience during my journey living with Rheumatoid Arthritis. Through years of daily wear, they came to represent perseverance, adaptation, and determination to keep moving forward despite life's challenges.
Created in colored pencil, acrylic ink, pan pastel, and marker on archival paper, Soul to Sole transforms an ordinary everyday object into a contemporary still life filled with personal meaning. Part of my Reclaimed Series, the artwork reflects my facination with finding beauty and significance in objects that have been shaped by time, experience, and use.
