PRISCILLA'S BACKYARD was inspired by a photograph taken in a friend's backyard in the Hamptons, where an abandoned dory had been quietly reclaimed by nature. Filled with rainwater, the weathered boat became an unexpected mirror, reflecting the surrounding trees and sky.
Rendered in colored pencil and graphite on paper from a black and white photo, the contrast between the monochromatic landscape and the vibrant reflection was reimagined, creating a striking contrast and inviting the viewer to look beyond decay and discover renewal.
