A moment held between what was...and what is seen again.
Pontet Pause captures a quiet, suspended moment seen from above, where light, water, and form merge into a single reflective space. A wide-brimmed hat obscures the figure's face as sunlight refracts across the surface, tracing shifting patterns over her body.
The piece is inspired by an unusual pairing of images: an earlier photograph taken by a professional photographer, and a later reinterpretation captured by the subject's young grandson from above. That contemporary perspective became the foundation for this work.
Created with colored pencil and airbrushed acrylic ink on archival paper, Pontet Pause reflects time, reinterpretation, and the quiet continuity of a moment seen again, held just below the surface.
