Ode to Georgia - Original Colored Pencil Artwork| Botanical Series

Has one artist ever changed the way you see the world?

For me, that artist is Georgia O'Keeffe. Ode to Georgia is my tribute to the woman whose fearless vision taught us to slow down, look closer, and discover extraordinary beauty in the ordinary.  Rather than painting a flower, she invited us inside it.

Created over more than 100 hours using 100% colored pencil on archival paper using a hot Icarus Board, this original colored pencil work captures the rich layers, luminous color, and quiet intensity of the actual flower.  Every petal was built gradually, one pencil stroke at a time, as both a technical challenge and a heartfelt homage to the artist who continues to inspire my own creative journey.

Whether you're drawn to the timeless beauty of flowers, admire Georgia O'Keeffe's legacy, or simply appreciate artwork that rewards a closer look, Ode to Georgia celebrate the power of inspiration across generations.

Ode to Georgia was a Finalist in the California Art League's Illuminated - The Gold Medal Exhibition.
