A single piece of sea glass rests in wet sand beneath a retreating wave. I have always been drawn to the quiet search along the shoreline, watching the tide pull back and reveal what it has been carrying. Sea glass once sharp and discarded, becomes softened and luminous through years of motion in the ocean.
ln Ocean Gem, the bubbles suspended in the surf capture a fleeting moment: that instant after the water recedes and the beach briefly gives up a small treasure. This piece is less about the object itself and more about discovery, patience, and the unexpected beauty created by time and water.
This piece was created using colored pencil layered with airbrushed acrylic ink on paper allowing transparent depth and subtle tonal transitions that echo the clarity and movement of water.
