Montauk Harbor was originally created for the Montauk Lighthouse Cookbook, a community project my mother helped bring to life through her volunteer work at the Montauk Lighthouse. The original pen and ink drawing used in the cookbook was a labor of love, and watercolor pencil was later added transforming the original black-and-white illustration into a vibrant celebration of light, color, and reflection.
Soft morning clouds drift overhead while the quiet fishing boats rest patiently against their moorings, their reflections dancing across the calm water. The scene captures the simple beauty that makes working harbors so memorable-places where the rhythm of the day is measured not by the clock, but by the tides.
