MONTAUK DUNES

Inspired by the windswept dunes of Montauk, New York, this pen-and-ink drawing captures the quiet beauty of one of my favorite coastal landscapes.  Sparse vegetation, drifting sand, and the distant horizon evoke the peaceful solitude that has drawn me back to Montauk throughout my life.  My parents are buried there, making this place especially meaningful to me.

Originally created for my Mother's Montauk Lighthouse Cookbook, this drawing was rendered in pen and ink with subtle airbrushed acrylic ink to suggest the soft light of the sky and sand.  Montauk Dunes received an Honorable Mention in the Grey Cube Gallery's Monochrome Exhibition
