Waiting is an original acrylic painting on canvas inspired by time spent in Costa Rica exploring tide pools. The woman, seen from behind, rests quietly in shallow ocean water. It's a self portrait of the artist, suspended in a moment of anticipation of waiting for the tide to recede. The painting captures a state of reflection and the water becomes both setting and metaphor.
This piece reflects a memory shared with the artist's sister who lives in Costa Rica. Mornings spent watching the ocean slowly transform the shoreline, teaching the quiet lesson of some things cannot be rushed. The tide will go out, but only in it's own time.
